Warehouse dispatch system replacing spreadsheets

The challenge

Dispatch ran on a shared spreadsheet that three people edited simultaneously. Stock counts drifted, deliveries were duplicated, and someone spent two hours every evening reconciling it.

What we built

A web application modelled on the existing workflow rather than a generic warehouse package — same terminology, same sequence, but with proper record locking, an audit trail and role-based access.

Barcode scanning on receipt and dispatch removed the manual keying that caused most of the drift.

The outcome

The evening reconciliation is gone. Stock accuracy is checked continuously rather than discovered at month end, and dispatch errors dropped sharply because the system will not allow the same order to be picked twice.
