Multi-site network and CCTV for a retail chain

The challenge

Each branch had been set up independently by whoever was available — different equipment, no documentation, and cameras that could only be viewed from the store they were in. Head office had no visibility of anything.

What we built

We audited every site, standardised on one switching and camera platform, and rebuilt each branch to the same VLAN design. Site-to-site VPN links every branch to head office, with a central NVR aggregating camera access.

Each site was cut over individually outside trading hours, with a rollback plan in place before the work started.

The outcome

Head office can now view any camera from one interface, faults are detected by monitoring before staff report them, and every site has identical, documented equipment — so a fix at one branch applies to all of them.
